Screamo at its Finest; the Vs. Tour

So I went to a fantastical screamo fest last night at Jack Rabbit's in downtown Jacksonville. And I have to be completely honest, I was pretty blown away. It's not my musical genre of choice, but I am always open to good music. Anybody that can play an instrument is a-okay in my book.

Anyway... the bands appearing were Drop Dead, Gorgeous; Gwen Stacy; Scary Kids Scaring Kids; and Haste the Day. I have no idea who I saw when. Well that's a lie, I came in kind of late. So I think I missed Gwen Stacy. And I think the band I walked in on may have been Drop Dead, Gorgeous. If that's so, then they were pretty damn good. Great stage presence despite the tiny ass stage and the music was fantastic. Scary Kids Scaring Kids was fucking great. They are really quite talented at what they do... and as I said, I am not a huge screamo fan but they definitely impressed me. And to make things easier on the eyes... Chad and Tyson are quite the little eye candies. I think I may have blushed once or twice. But then again, that could have been the beer. But that's neither here nor there. As for Haste the Day, I wasn't really feeling it. They were decent but they didn't have me enthralled and the music wasn't anything unusually great. They weren't BAD but they just didn't rock my boat.

Anyhow, if you are a show goer and love live music, this is worth your 15 bux. Just make sure you show up on time. Apparently screamo shows start when the doors open. I was unaware of this and took my sweet ass time getting down there. Shame on me.

If you are interested in checking out the bands, I've linked all the band names to their pages so have at it.
